- The filter module smoothens the test pulses
Description
- The test pulses of safety inputs FI1A and FI1B are filtered out at the outputs FO1A* and FO1B* to such an extent that the downstream control system can no longer detect them.
- Owing to smoothing of the test pulses, short circuit monitoring will no longer be effective at safety inputs FI1A / FI1B downstream of the filter module. Ruling out short circuits downstream of safety outputs FO1A* / FO1B* requires laying the cables with protection or mounting them in the same control cabinet as the control system.
- The filter module does not have its own safety characteristic (PL or category), because it is not connected to an external power supply. It therefore does not contribute to the failure probability.
